Why We're Rallying

We’re Rallying because this project deserves more attention.

The Project

RALLY is a curated spotlight program from the BlkScript Network. Each RALLY dedicates BlkScript’s audience, editorial attention, and community energy to a single filmmaker’s project for a time-boxed window. RALLY exists to amplify projects that need visibility, community rally, and attention from potential investors, sponsors, and supporters to break through to their next stage.

RALLY does not collect, hold, or disburse funds. All financial support flows directly from backers to the filmmaker through their own chosen payment channels at this time.

Who Qualifies

Emerging with momentum. RALLY features filmmakers who are actively building — with real work behind them and clear ambition ahead. They have engaged audiences, a body of work (shorts, series pilots, festival credits, or comparable), and projects that need capital and attention to break through to the next level. RALLY is not for absolute beginners without any track record, and it’s not for established filmmakers with studio infrastructure and existing pipelines. It’s for the artists in between — those who’ve proven their talent and are now trying to scale it.

Team requirements:

The lead filmmaker (director, writer, or lead producer) must be BIPOC
Allies of any background may be part of the team
The project itself must center BIPOC stories, voices, or perspectives
What Kinds of Projects Qualify
Feature Films and Short Films
Series and TV pilots
Documentaries
Web series and Vertical series (Microdramas)
Audio series
Books seeking Film or Television adaptation

Project stage: Pre-production, post-production, or completion. Projects must have a completed script (or equivalent for audio/books), an attached team, and demonstrable creative progress. RALLY does not feature projects in early development or without visible momentum.

What Doesn’t Qualify
Personal fundraising for medical bills, emergencies, memorials, or similar
Startups, apps, or non-content products — even from BIPOC founders
Projects with no visible progress — no team, no script, no proof of concept
What Filmmakers Must Bring

To be considered for RALLY, filmmakers must have:

A pitch video of at least 60 seconds
A defined funding goal stated as a dollar amount
At least one working support link — a Stripe payment link, Venmo, GoFundMe, active Kickstarter/Seed&Spark/Indiegogo campaign, or their own website’s donation page. RALLY generates attention; backers need a working path to give.
A public social media presence — at minimum, an active public Instagram, TikTok, X account, or filmmaker website
A commitment to post-RALLY updates — filmmakers agree to share public updates about their project’s progress and tag us (@theblkscript) during and after their RALLY window
Editorial Discretion

BlkScript reserves the right to accept or decline any submission at its sole discretion. Meeting the standards above qualifies a project for consideration; it does not guarantee selection. RALLY curation prioritizes projects that align with BlkScript’s mission, resonate with the community, and are positioned for the RALLY spotlight to make a meaningful difference.
