A retrospective on the old 90s Nickelodeon classic that made Nickelodeon history as the first sitcom with a predominantly black cast … My Brother & Me.
While it only ran a single season with 13 episodes (surprising, I know), it seriously changed diversity in kids’ television. So, in this video, I talk about its history, how it made a lasting impression on black youth, why it was cancelled, where the actors are now, & whether or not a show like it could work today.
I even talked to one of the creators (Calvin Brown Jr.), so I got some really awesome behind-the-scenes details too.
