CJ Obilom

CJ Obilom is a Nigerian-American actress, producer, and theater performer whose career spans film, television, and stage. Born and raised in Austin, Texas, Obilom developed a passion for acting at age 11 and later spent part of her childhood in Nigeria, an experience that helped shape her cultural identity and artistic perspective. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Theater and Dance from the University of Texas at Austin before relocating to Los Angeles to pursue a professional acting career. She has continued her training at institutions including Berg Studios and the Will Wallace Acting Company.

Obilom made early screen appearances in projects including Abrupt Decision, Camp Kickitoo, and The Coroner: I Speak for the Dead, eventually building a diverse résumé across independent film, television, and digital productions. One of her notable early film roles came in the 2017 drama Trafficked, in which she portrayed Mali, a young woman caught in the world of human trafficking. The following year, she appeared as Aimee Mwizerwa in the faith-based drama Beautifully Broken.

Her television work includes the digital series Stuck With You, where she played Katrina, as well as appearances on NBC’s Grand Crew. She later joined BET+’s The Black Hamptons as Adaora Sinclair, expanding her presence in television drama.

In 2025, Obilom took on a major role as Nova Hansworth in the television series Conspirators, appearing across seven episodes. Her recent work has also continued to demonstrate her commitment to theater. She appeared in the Robey Theatre Company’s production of Alexandre Dumas’ The Great Lover and in Richard Wesley’s The Talented Tenth. In 2026, she is slated to portray Dussie Mae in A Noise Within’s production of August Wilson’s Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.

Beyond acting, Obilom has also worked behind the scenes as a producer, including serving as a co-producer on the television series The Mels. Her stated artistic mission centers on using storytelling to create meaningful conversations and positively impact audiences, particularly through projects addressing important social issues.
