From November 15-21, our documentary ‘Dear Black Writers’ hits the big screen in Atlanta for a limited one-week run. This film is Tamika Newhouse’s love letter to every Black writer who built something out of nothing: the stories, the struggle, and the community that kept us going.

Come out for opening night for a meet-and-greet, and stay for weekend author signings in the lobby. Bring your book club, bring your writing crew, bring somebody who needs to see this.

Tamika Jamison is a filmmaker, producer, and literary powerhouse building the bridge between Black storytellers on the page and the screen. Called “the Shonda Rhimes of Black publishing,” she has published nearly 400 books, sold close to 300,000 copies independently, and coined the term “Creatives” in 2011. Her documentaries Traces of Mika: A Visual Memoir and Dear Black Writers turn the lens on the artists behind the stories. As Marketing Lead and Strategist for MegaMind Media and Creative Director of Buuk.World/Remedy, a streaming platform and IP marketplace, she helps independent creators turn their work into ownable, screen-ready IP. She is also the founder of AAMBC Inc. and producer of Black Writers Weekend, a national touring festival connecting writers, screenwriters, and filmmakers since 2012. A full-time creative for nearly 20 years, Tamika’s mission is simple: get our stories made, seen, and owned.
