Aldis Hodge and Wunmi Mosaku are teaming up for One Night Out, a new thriller from Amazon MGM Studios’ Orion Pictures. George Tillman Jr. (The Hate U Give, Notorious) is directing the film, which will stream globally on Prime Video.
Written by Nelson Greaves, with revisions from Lauren Schuker Blum and Rebecca Angelo, the movie is based on Greaves’ short story. It centers on a married couple whose troubled relationship takes a terrifying turn during a rare night away from their children.
After leaving their three kids with a babysitter, the couple notices someone inside their home through the nanny cam. Their evening quickly becomes a desperate race home as they attempt to protect their children and confront the threat together.
The film marks another collaboration between Amazon and Hodge, who currently stars as Alex Cross in Prime Video’s Cross. The series attracted 40 million viewers worldwide during its first 20 days and has already been renewed for Season 3. Hodge will also appear opposite Jake Gyllenhaal in Road House 2 and recently starred in The Dutchman, which premiered at SXSW in 2025.
Mosaku is coming off her Oscar-nominated performance in Ryan Coogler’s Sinners. She will next appear in Aaron Sorkin’s The Social Reckoning alongside Jeremy Allen White, Jeremy Strong and Mikey Madison. She is also set to lead Idris Elba’s Apple TV+ series This Is How It Goes.
For Tillman, One Night Out adds another high-profile project to a directing résumé that includes The Hate U Give and Notorious.
