What I appreciated most was how real everything felt. The performance never felt forced, and the Rodney reminded me of men I’ve known my whole life We’ve all had moments where life seems to stop moving while everyone else keeps going, and this film captures that feeling in a way that’s honest without trying too hard.
The direction allows the quiet moments to breathe, and that’s where the film really shines. It doesn’t rely on big dramatic speeches or over-the-top scenes. I respected that.
Visually, the film has a grounded, cinematic look that fits the story perfectly. Nothing feels flashy just for the sake of it.
I genuinely enjoyed this film and would recommend it to anyone who appreciates character-driven storytelling. It’s heartfelt, relatable, and quietly powerful.

But dope film. The production company should do a part II. I want to see when he had to tell his daughter that he indeed did not have it all figured out and they have to move.
Glad I got this notification! Truth be told, I wasn’t gonna watch it at first cause I’m tired of these movies these days trying too hard but this was really good. It wasn’t preachy or nothing, wasn’t trying to make you feel sorry for nobody, it was just regular every day life. This is what every black house feels like. Made me think about my own mama, God rest her, and the people from my neighborhood growing up, how they never said much about what they went through but you ain’t have to ask, you could just tell. This was good.

There are some films that don’t need dramatic moments to leave an impression, and this is one of them. This short film authentically captures everyday life in so many black households. It reminded me of my life as a child growing up. Most of us have probably been through times such as this. The world doesn’t stop for us just because we may need it to. This film captures that feeling with honesty and grace, without ever trying too hard to make its point. The quiet moments said more than the verbal dialog. Sometimes the most powerful storytelling happens in the silence.
