Biography
Taylor Joy Mason, ACE is an Emmy-winning television and film editor whose dynamic body of work spans both scripted television and feature film, known for her sharp storytelling instincts and genre-flexible editing style.
A graduate of the American Film Institute Conservatory with an MFA in Editing, Mason began her career assisting on major genre films such as Dune: Part One (2021) and Blade Runner 2049 (2017), before establishing herself as a creative force in television. On the small screen her credits include acclaimed series such as Pose (2021), A Black Lady Sketch Show (2022–2023) — where she was part of the first all-Black editing team to win the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Picture Editing for Variety Programming — Everything’s Trash (2022), and Monster (2022). Her feature work includes the critically noticed Birth/Rebirth (2023), which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, and the comedy Idiotka (2025).
In 2025, Mason served as editor on the Universal Pictures release HIM, a supernatural horror film directed by Justin Tipping that explores the physical and psychological intensity of professional football. Throughout her career she has also been recognized with accolades from the American Cinema Editors (ACE) Awards and continues to be sought after for projects that blend innovative narrative rhythm with emotional resonance.
