Biography

Rachel K. Fraser began her career as a film and television producer over 15-years ago, starting as a staff writer on documentaries, commercials and music video treatments under Alpha Media Entertainment, working with the likes of Columbia Records and Def Jam. This led Rachel to get her first producer title on the documentary feature, Close to Death in 2008, about gun violence in Philadelphia.

 

In 2009, Rachel began producing and managing high-profile events and activations including multi-million dollar Pharmaceutical launches, New York Fashion Week (10 seasons) the U.S. Open Tennis & U.S. Open Golf (for 5 seasons), 2 legs of the PGA Tour, brand launches and many more.

 

In 2013 Rachel established The Audacity, her full-service production company and post production house. Partnered with Smash Entertainment, The Audacity’s first feature film, What Death Leaves Behind starring Vincent Young and Christopher Mann, premiered at Sundance in 2018, sponsored by African American Women in Cinema.

 

In 2017, Rachel began consulting through The Audacity on independent and first-time studio films, several of which have premiered and screened at Sundance, HBO’s Short Film Competition, SXSW film festival, American Black Film Festival and Essence Fest. Through The Audacity she has also post produced for the likes of Adobe, Warner Brothers Discovery, and American Express.

 

Starting in 2020, Rachel produced 7 high concept short films including: Invade (2020) which came through the Sundance Episodic Development Track; Fell Ends (2021) which was distributed by Shudder, and Ro & the Stardust (2022) which qualified for the 2024 Oscars short film competition, and is now streaming internationally with Netflix.

 

Rachel’s recent credits include the independent feature film Three Birthdays (2024) directed by Jane Weinestock, & starring Josh Radnor, now streaming on Apple TV + and Chosen Family (2025) directed by Heather Graham, starring Julia Styles and is now streaming on Hulu, & Comedy Special,  Godfrey: Rebel With A Cause premiering in theaters nation wide in January 2026.  Rachel will soon be releasing her much anticipated docu-series Scarz, amongst a slate of executive produced projects. 

 

Rachel is an award winning script & poetry writer, has received the TrailBlazer Award from AAWIC of New York; the Proclamation of Excellence by the city of NY in 2019; was chosen as the only female black producer for the inaugural class of Netflix’s Narrative Incubator for Women of Color with Director Eunice Levis,  and has received over 30 Best Picture Awards from various film festivals worldwide.

 

Rachel is passionate about filmmaking on the executive side and working with filmmakers from prep through post and distribution on the creative and logistical fronts.
