Biography

Moritz J. Williams is a Dallas-born actor, producer, and director whose career began on the stage at The Black Academy of Arts and Letters, where he gained recognition performing leading roles in sold-out theatrical productions. Transitioning from theater into television and film, Williams built a reputation as a versatile performer with credits spanning drama, comedy, and independent film. Early in his screen career, he appeared in projects including the series Diary of an Insecure Boyfriend and later worked with director Rob Bailey on the long-running crime drama Criminal Minds. He also became associated with Issa Rae and James Bland through the acclaimed digital series Giants, which earned significant attention during the rise of independent Black streaming content. Williams later expanded his résumé with recurring work on the Starz drama P-Valley and standout appearances in series including The Black Hamptons and Finding Happy, where he portrayed the character Hasaan.

In addition to acting, Williams has worked behind the camera as a producer and director on projects such as the short film Dirty Laundry and the series Journey of a Goddess, showcasing his creative range beyond performance.
