Mann Robinson is an American filmmaker, producer, director, writer, actor, and entrepreneur recognized for his growing influence in independent film and his commitment to empowering Black creatives through storytelling and studio ownership. Robinson began his creative journey as a rapper before transitioning into filmmaking, where he quickly established himself as a multifaceted content creator. He is the founder and owner of Mann Robinson Studios, Mann Robinson Distribution, and Mann Robinson Music Group, ventures that have positioned him as a key independent force producing and distributing original film content while supporting emerging talent. His early breakthrough came with the urban drama Turnt (2020), which he wrote, directed, and produced, helping to cement his reputation as a visionary independent filmmaker with a focus on culturally driven narratives.
Robinson continued to expand his filmography with projects such as Justice on Trial (2020), Homelessness Is Not a Crime (2020), and the sequel Super Turnt (2022), the latter further demonstrating his ability to scale independent productions with recognizable talent and commercial appeal. He also served as producer on the feature film Sebastian (2023), continuing his efforts to develop and distribute independent films across digital platforms and streaming outlets.
