Biography
Danielle Pinnock (born May 11, 1988 in Boston, Massachusetts) is an American actress, comedian, writer, and creator known for her dynamic screen presence and sharp comedic talent. A classically trained performer with a B.A. from Temple University and an M.F.A. with First Distinction from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, Pinnock first gained attention with guest roles on acclaimed series including This Is Us, Workaholics, Scandal, and Get Shorty. She garnered wider recognition as Ms. Ingram on Young Sheldon (2017–2020) and lent her voice to animated projects such as The Boss Baby: Back in Business, ThunderCats Roar, and Where’s Waldo? early in her career.
Pinnock’s breakout came as the effervescent Alberta Haynes on CBS’s hit comedy Ghosts (2021–present), portraying a flamboyant 1920s jazz singer turned ghost — a role that earned her widespread acclaim and honors. For her work on Ghosts, she won the 2025 NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series and multiple Astra Television Awards, along with nominations from the Black Reel Awards and the Hollywood Critics Association.
In film, Pinnock appeared opposite Eddie Murphy and Tracee Ellis Ross in the holiday comedy Candy Cane Lane (2023), and she is slated to appear in the upcoming romantic comedy drama Same Same But Different, scheduled to premiere at SXSW 2026. Beyond acting, she is actively developing original projects, including the adult animated comedy Unmentionables with producers Anthony Hemingway and Taraji P. Henson, as well as producing an unscripted series inspired by her own wedding story.
