Biography

Cheyenne Ewulu is an actress, writer, producer and creator best known for her work in independent film and television that centers diverse voices and contemporary geek culture. A graduate of The University of Texas at Dallas with a background in emerging media and communications, Ewulu first garnered attention with her multi-faceted short films in the late 2010s, including Ex Roommate (2019) and Unplug Your Mind (2019), showcasing her range in both performance and storytelling early in her career.

Ewulu’s breakout project came with The Comic Shop, a workplace mockumentary sitcom she conceptualized, wrote and stars in as Stephanie Okeke. Originally introduced as a proof-of-concept and TV movie in 2023, The Comic Shop evolved into a full independent series with a 2025 launch on Awkward Virgo TV and YouTube, earning an IMDb audience rating in the high-8s and standing out as a distinctive voice in comedy that celebrates fandom and underrepresented perspectives in nerd culture.

The Comic Shop has been embraced across the festival circuit, with selections at events such as the Micheaux Film Festival, Atlanta Film Festival and Black Girls Rock Film Fest, where it received nominations for categories including Outstanding Digital Series — a testament to its cross-platform impact and Ewulu’s creative leadership. Beyond her series work, Ewulu’s documentary Shades of Cosplay (2016) premiered at MAGFest and received critical praise for its exploration of diversity within cosplay communities, positioning her as a thoughtful commentator on inclusion in fan spaces.

In addition to her scripted credits, Ewulu is a dynamic host and content creator, serving as host and head writer of the Prime Video Anime Club digital series for Prime Video and contributing comedic and pop-culture commentary for brands including Spotify, FANDOM and DC Comics.
