Biography
Blue Kimble (born January 3, 1983, in Atlanta, Georgia) is an American actor, producer, and former professional football player best known for his dynamic presence across television and film. Before transitioning to entertainment, Kimble played professionally in the Arena Football League and had a stint with the NFL’s Buffalo Bills, an early journey that would inform his discipline and work ethic onscreen.
Kimble made his acting debut in the early 2010s with guest appearances on popular television series such as The Game, Being Mary Jane, and Devious Maids, steadily building his profile with versatile character work. He parlayed those credits into more substantial film roles, appearing in a string of independent and genre pictures throughout the decade, including Breathe, Smoke, Nighthawks, and the TV One original movies Media (2017) and The Bobby DeBarge Story (2019).
In 2018, Kimble secured one of his signature television roles as Sawyer in Craig Ross Jr.’s drama Monogamy on the Urban Movie Channel, a performance that showcased his range in serialized storytelling. He followed this with a breakthrough as Andrew (Andrew Whiteside) in Tyler Perry’s hit BET+ drama Ruthless, a series regular role he carried from its 2020 premiere into 2025 with over ninety episodes. Concurrently, Kimble had a recurring arc as Rome in the Starz drama P-Valley (2020–2022) and continued to expand his television footprint with casting in BET+’s The Black Hamptons (Season 2).
Throughout the 2020s, Kimble remained prolific in film, earning notable credits in The Stepdaughter and its sequel, Dying to Be Famous, A Christmas Miracle, Allure Part One (2025), and Love Don’t Pay the Bills (2025). Alongside acting, he has increasingly worked behind the scenes, accumulating producer credits on projects including holiday films like A Christmas Gift and A Christmas Wish, as well as earlier features such as Smoke and My Online Valentine.
Kimble’s contributions have also drawn industry recognition. He has appeared at events including the NAACP Image Awards and has been cited as a nominee for Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series, underscoring his impact in Black television drama.
