Biography

Aaron Pierre is a British actor known for his versatile performances across television and film, blending intense dramatic work with blockbuster and genre roles. Born and raised in the UK, Pierre has steadily built a reputation as a compelling leading man with both emotional depth and physical presence.

 

Pierre first gained international attention in television with roles in Krypton (2018), where he played Dev‑Em, and in the critically acclaimed limited series The Underground Railroad (2021), portraying Caesar Garner in the historical drama based on Colson Whitehead’s novel.

 

His early film work includes a role in M. Night Shyamalan’s suspense thriller Old (2021), and significant parts in the sci‑fi drama Foe (2023), starring alongside Paul Mescal and Saoirse Ronan, as well as the family drama Brother (2022).

In 2024, Pierre’s star continued its ascent with his breakout performance as Terry Richmond in Jeremy Saulnier’s action thriller Rebel Ridge for Netflix, which became one of the platform’s most‑watched films during its release period. That same year, he expanded into voice work, taking on the iconic role of Mufasa in Barry Jenkins’ animated prequel Mufasa: The Lion King. On television, Pierre starred as Malcolm X in Genius: MLK/X (2024) and joined the cast of The Morning Show (2025) in a recurring role.

 

Looking ahead, Pierre continues to broaden his range with anticipated roles in major franchise projects. He is set to headline the DC Studios series Lanterns as John Stewart / Green Lantern, opposite Kyle Chandler’s Hal Jordan, in a grounded, character‑driven take on the beloved Green Lantern mythos. Production on Lanterns has wrapped, and the series is expected to arrive on HBO in 2026. Additionally, Pierre is slated to appear in Lucasfilm’s Star Wars: Starfighter (2027), directed by Shawn Levy and starring Ryan Gosling and Amy Adams, marking another high‑profile genre turn in his career.
