Academy Award winner Michael B. Jordan is set to produce an adaptation of Electronic Arts’ hit video game franchise ‘Battlefield,’ with potential plans to star. The game series is renowned for its large-scale ground, aerial, and naval combat, with settings spanning historical conflicts like both World Wars and Vietnam to modern and near-future battlefields.

Jordan will produce alongside Christopher McQuarrie, who is also on board to direct and write the script. Sony Pictures is currently in talks to acquire the rights for the feature project.

While specific plot details remain under wraps, the producing team also includes Jesse Stern (Electronic Arts), Carter Swan (Emerald Neon), Roy Lee and Miri Yoon (Vertigo), and Elizabeth Raposo (Outlier Society).
