The series adaptation of Kennedy Ryan’s bestselling novel ‘Before I Let Go’—the first installment in her Skyland book series—has officially landed a series order at Peacock. Sister duo Attica Locke (When They See Us) and Tembi Locke (From Scratch) will serve as showrunners and write alongside Ryan and Malcolm D. Lee (The Best Man franchise, Girls Trip), who is also attached to direct.
Before I Let Go follows Yasmen and Josiah Wade, a couple whose marriage was expected to last forever until back-to-back tragedies tore it apart and proved that love can’t solve everything. The life they created fell apart and the two were left to navigate divorce and shared custody. When Yasmen begins finding joy again, staying close to Josiah reignites a spark while reopening past heartbreak. Ultimately, both are left to question whether they can truly move on—or if a second chance could offer a better future.
Expressing her enthusiasm for the screen adaptation, Ryan shared: “Getting the chance to bring the Skyland series to life onscreen is a dream come true.
