Biography

Daniel Kaluuya is an Academy Award-winning British actor, writer, and producer widely regarded as one of the most compelling and versatile performers of his generation. Born on February 24, 1989, in London, England, Kaluuya first emerged as a breakout talent in British television before becoming an international film star known for delivering emotionally layered and socially resonant performances across drama, horror, and blockbuster cinema.

 

Kaluuya began his career as both a writer and actor on the acclaimed British teen drama Skins (2007–2010, 2013), where he portrayed “Posh Kenneth” and contributed as a writer while still in his teens. His early television work also included roles in Black Mirror (2011), where his performance in the episode “Fifteen Million Merits” showcased his emotional depth and helped position him for international opportunities.
