Kerry Washington is an Emmy, Golden Globe, SAG Award, and Critics Choice Award-nominated actress, producer, director, entrepreneur, and activist whose career has established her as one of Hollywood’s most influential creative forces. Born in the Bronx, New York, Washington made her feature film debut in Our Song (2000) before earning early acclaim in films including Save the Last Dance (2001), Lift (2001), Bad Company (2002), The Human Stain (2003), Ray (2004), Fantastic Four (2005) and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007), portraying Alicia Masters. She continued building a reputation as one of Hollywood’s most versatile performers with standout roles in The Last King of Scotland (2006), I Think I Love My Wife (2007), Lakeview Terrace (2008), Mother and Child (2009), Night Catches Us (2010), For Colored Girls (2010), and Quentin Tarantino’s Academy Award-winning Django Unchained (2012), in which her powerful performance as Broomhilda earned widespread critical acclaim.
