Biography

Omar Benson Miller is an American actor with a rich and varied career across television and film. Born on October 7, 1978, in Anaheim, California, he studied at San Jose State University before breaking into professional acting.

 

Miller gained wide recognition for his roles on television, including Walter Simmons on CSI: Miami and Charles Greane on Ballers, and has also voiced Raphael in Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and its 2022 film adaptation. On the big screen, he has appeared in projects ranging from 8 Mile and The Sorcerer’s Apprentice to The Express.

 

In 2025, Miller earned renewed attention for his performance as Cornbread in Ryan Coogler’s Sinners, contributing to the ensemble strength of one of the year’s most acclaimed films. Sinners has become a major awards contender, sweeping critics associations and earning multiple nominations and wins across categories including Best Picture, directing, acting, and ensemble honors — a testament to the collaborative impact of Miller and his co-stars in a standout season for cinema.
